I'm looking to start a RC Crawling club in the Mobile area, hold local competitions and get togethers. I do most of my RC crawling at Dauphin Island around Fort Gains. This would be a great spot to hold some local competitions. There are some really good places just north of Mobile that are great RC Crawling locations. Feel free to call me or contact me on here or at RCCRAWLER.com forum if you are interested in RC crawlers. I currently have a shaft driven Losi comp crawler and a custom motor on axle Berg.

Hope to get some feed back, thanks for reading.

From what I've seen, rock crawling in Mobile is like the offroad equivalent of onroad's drifting-

1.) They're slower than their racing counterparts. (not a bad thing, it's just the nature of the classes)
2.) They're really into scale appearance. (Again, not a bad thing)
3.) The Mobile area is supposedly full of folks who do it. (Pretty awesome)
4.) They always talk about getting together. (Hey, this has potential!!)
5.) They never follow through with #4. (Nevermind..)

My suggestion would be to hang flyers up at Hobbytown and Xtreme Zone with contact information and see where things go from there.

Not into the scale crawlers I'm talking about comp legal crawlers. Here's a few pics of my Berg and it's not as slow as you would think. Dual torguemaster Esc's, dual Brood 35t creep HHK type s motors, carbon fiber chassis, titanium axles, Delrin axle tubes, custom wheels and tires plus many other things.

Looks pretty boss.

I don't now anything about comp crawling, let along crawling in general. But I am interested in learning more.

Xtreme has a pile of rocks/broken concrete/boulders/(not sure what to call them) next to the off-road track. I always was surprised no one tried crawling on it... I am sure it's not anything impressive for you, but if you head out to one of the races and start crawling, I think you'd drum up some interest - at the very least, curious people. The owner (Scott) is always about looking for new cool stuff.

Thanks, looking on google maps that is a very small pile of rocks. I might make it over there one day, if anything just to watch some racing. Sold all me go fast stuff about a year ago.

their were a few of us in ft walton that did it....It is fun,challenging...more tech. than you think and u takes more learning than thought...I actually like the scale riggs too . I did well with my venom creeper than the axials, big tamiya, and a few others because of the right tire....white rovers

Do you still run your creeper? If you do we need to meet up at the Island and do some rock crawling one weekend.
